All Hallows Eve in ASA Quarterfinals!

A while ago I wrote a screenplay called All Hallows Eve. The basic storyline goes something like this:

One hundred years after the Salem witch trials of 1692, a single mother confronts terrifying supernatural forces while searching for her kidnapped daughter on the scariest night of the year… All Hallows Eve.

The script went on to be a finalist in the Next Great John Carpenter Movie contest sponsored by Creative Screenwriting magazine, but at that time I was too busy working on another project to capitalize on the momentum.

Well, last autumn I submitted the script to a bunch of different contests and I’m happy to announce that is was just selected to be a quarterfinalist in the American Screenwriter’s Association 11th Annual Screenplay Competition. Hooray! The ASA competition is one of 4 major contests in North America and out of 1,400 submissions, All Hallows Eve was one of the 130 selected to move on the next round of judging.

Semi-finalists will be announced on April 30th, so I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed. Until then, I’ll just be happy to have made it this far!
