I’m not even gonna’ bother trying to make an excuse for why it’s been so long since my last post. Let’s just say I’ve been busy working on various projects, including a whole ton of new music. And while I was working on these tracks over the past couple of months, it occurred to me that I should make them more accessible to the masses. So…
I’ve finally updated the music section of my website. Now, instead of just being able to listen to a small sample of my tracks, you now have access to every song I’ve ever produced. In addition to all 12 songs from my album Devilution, I’ve also included the songs “Thorns”, “At the End of It All”, “Oh Death”, and “Lullaby” from my upcoming downbeat project Signs of Ambient Life, as well as “Tequila Sunrise”, “Singapore Sling”, “Mojito”, and “Mai Tai” from a summertime “beach house” inspired project I’m working on called Bring Your Bikini.
Another new feature is the ability to download each song in mp3 format to your own computer and iPod for absolutely no charge. Just right-click on the song title, choose “Save Link As”, as save it to your computer.
Music has always been more of a hobby for me, and since I have no intention of trying to get anywhere with it, I just figured it was time to start giving it away. I hope you dig it as much as I like producing it.
Enjoy!

A few years ago, my buddy Geoff Klein and I set out with very little money and a whole lot of determination to make a horror movie. Initially, the goal was simply to create something that would help us develop our respective film-making skills. I was to direct and Geoff would be our cinematographer. I wrote a creepy little script about terrible things happening to good people and we spent a month isolated in the mountains with our cast and extremely minimal crew. It was exhausting and extremely trying at times, but for the most part, we had a good time.
What resulted was The Legend of Sorrow Creek. It’s the story of four young people who find themselves in a fight for their lives when a weekend trip to a family cottage brings them face-to-face with the shocking horror of one of America’s most haunted places.
When the film was finally finished, we had a local screening for it and that was about it. To be completely honest, I totally content to let it sit on the shelf while I moved on to other projects. But Geoff had other plans…
Like a pitbull clinging to a scrap of meat, Geoff wouldn’t let it go. Through his tireless efforts, Sorrow Creek literally became the film that wouldn’t die. He got it into the 2007 Twin Cities Film Festival and suddenly the film started getting some attention. But Geoff didn’t stop there.
His hard work finally paid off last December when we signed a distribution deal with Brain Damage Films. I am now proud to announce that The Legend of Sorrow Creek was released on DVD on January 6, 2009. That’s right, folks… our twisted little ghost story has finally found a home. You can now get your own copy from a whole bunch of places on the Internet, like Amazon or directly from Brain Damage Films. We’ve even included some cool special features such as a “Making Of” featurette, interviews with some of the cast, and even some audition footage.
You can even check-out a recent review of the film here.
I said we started this project with the intention of learning something. In the end, I think Geoff’s perseverance and determination to make something out of nothing has been the most valuable lesson… never give up on something you believe in. Thanks for sticking with it, homeboy.
Be sure to keep updated on Geoff’s current project, the upcoming slasher Bikini Girls on Ice. It’s totally badass.

So I guess I’m not too good at this whole blogging thing, huh? The problem is, I’ve just been too damn busy living life to write about it!
In the last couple of months, Michelle and I celebrated our first anniversary with a wine-tasting trip in Niagara-on-the-Lake, went hiking in the Adirondacks, traveled to Salem, Mass. with her mom and sis for the town’s annual Haunted Happenings event, and took the Montreal Alouettes “Fan Train” to Toronto to watch our team kick some Argo ass.
I also spent a few days in Los Angeles (where I was finally able to attend Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights event) before coming home and working myself to the bone organizing and putting on our own haunted house at the high school I work at. “Professor Morbid’s House of Horror” was a huge success and I look forward to terrorizing the kiddies again next year.
Last week I met Peter Lenkov (successful screenwriter and executive producer of “CSI:New York”). He had tons of great advice.
This past weekend Michelle and I traveled to Boston to fulfill a long-standing dream of watching the New England Patriots in action. We met up with our good friends Kevin and Danielle, tailgated for four hours, made many new friends, and headed into Gillette Stadium to watch Matt Cassell lead the Pats to a 20-10 win over the Buffalo Bills. Good times…
All this on top of teaching full-time and continuing to promote my script, All Hallows Eve. Whew!
In spite of all this insanity, I have managed to get some work done, though. Right now I’m the process of polishing a new screenplay called Remedial. It’s the story of a hotshot high-school teacher who learns a few important lessons of his own when he’s forced to spend a year teaching one of the school’s remedial classes. It’s a bit of a departure for me in that it’s not dark or depressing or filled with blood and screaming. It’s actually a pretty lighthearted drama/comedy and at first I wasn’t sure I could pull it off. But I gave it a shot and finished the first draft in late August. I then let it sit until recently when I began reading it again. After over two months, I still like it. With a few more revisions, this could be my most accessible and marketable script yet.
So that’s about it for now. There’s some really big news on the horizon, but you’ll all have to wait for another post. Hopefully, I’ll find the time to update this place more often!

Heartfelt hugs and kisses to my wonderful wife Michelle, who is turning 30 today (although she doesn’t look a day older than 25). She’s my soulmate, my companion, my bestfriend, and the light of my life. The sun rises and sets with her and I’m thankful for each day we’ve been together.
Happy birthday, gorgeous. You deserve all the happiness in the world.
Oh yeah… you can all read more about Michelle’s surprise birthday celebration at my sister-in-law’s blog.
